Well, this seems strange now after so long. Last time I was posting here was in month two of the Great Northern War with everything still very much up in the air and RONA-KIA gangs of raiders scouring Deklein while NVA (Evol, RKK, and allied forces were fighting PA+CA double MWD Ravens in Pureblind for supremacy). Pirates were ousting our allies in Tribute and Jericho Fraction was running rotating wardecs on Phoenix Alliance empire assets in Lonetrek and the EC border. Brand new Crow Interceptors were fitting cruise missiles and selling like wildfire and I managed to lose three ApocalypsesÆ in 2 days to enemy action and killmails hadnÆt even been invented. The forums were aflame with accusations and counter accusations and EveÆs most brutal war to date was destroying thousands of ships a week and seeing the first elements of station ôping-pongö flipping in the north. What a time. And how much time has passed since. ItÆs incredible really.
But the triumph and joy and wonder of this game we all play called Eve Online is that those moments are never truly lost. They are the history, the storyline, the shared past experience and war-tales of each participant. Those battles of yesteryear found the memory and shape interactions of the future. There are people in the game now who are at the helm of powerful alliances I knew when they first started, there are corporations and entities of note and notoriety that have evolved and changed and shaped the universe we play in. The knowledge of those changes has never been lost, and the stories are written. People know their names, they know our names, we ghosts of the past even. We write the story that is Eve online. We decide our actions and our accomplishments and failures, glories and tragedies, all will be remembered. This enduring single server environment is an incredible achievement and the developers and community involved in Eve Online should be rightly proud.
IÆd like to say a big thank you for everyone past and present who has supported me or at least appreciated the brand of political meddling and occasional insight I managed to bring to this great game. IÆd like to salute the developer team for keeping us interested these years with a constantly evolving and involving space strategy game of vast scope and complexity and IÆll thank the community agents and volunteers for the work and sacrifice theyÆve provided to enrich the environment we all enjoy.
And IÆd like to say a huge thanks to Star Fraction alliance past and present, directors and members, fighters and propagandists and crazy anarchists all. YouÆve all kept me in this game with your perseverance and accomplishment, with your verve and passion and never-say-die commitment to swimming against the stream and surviving EveÆs political descent into territorial empire building tyranny! In my darkest moments and frustration you've kept me engaged and hopeful and proud as I see what a small group of heroic revolutionaries can achieve in this game. Last summers Alliance tournament was a crowning accomplishment for years of striving and seeing the Star Fraction thorax fleet upsetting the odds and writing our name into history again made me immensely proud of everyone that made it happen.
And I'll say a very personal note of thanks to miss Revan Neferis, a great friend and confidante and much more besides, who never gave up on this moment and told me always to hope for things to be set straight in the end. A person of passion and commitment and endless understanding of the importance of community and inclusion in the single-server setting of Eve online, the kind of player that truly makes this game all it is and can be. Thank you with all my heart.
So there we are, three years gone and everything has changed in politics but many of the great names remain and the big fights against territorial powers are the same as they've ever been. I'm back and Star Fraction has never been away.
LetÆs change the world.

Good to hear from you too Gan Ning. Yes I have to admit, sometimes I thought the day would never come either. The universe is as ever in stern need of a revolution and the Star Fraction is up there at the forefront of shooting the regressives' in the face. Let me know if you ever want to dust off that old Raven and rejoin the cause Gan - I never forget that old warhorse of yours from our hunt against the Lame Ducks, inspired me to go torpedo crazy myself a long long time ago.

Your walls of text, which a few years ago would have undoubtedly inspired me into a belligerent and ultimately trivial argument, now -surprisingly- trigger my sense of frolic. I propose that we listen to the popular Swedish pop music band Ace of Base together, and celebrate the return of so many welcome faces (except for Aneu). I will even bring some wine and pretend to be french! Oui!
Also a word of caution. During your extended exile form the forums, Digitalcommunist has nurtured an alarmingly perverted yet adorably cute interest in you. I would suggest that you carry a can of mace around at all times in order to prevent any unauthorized cavity intrusions!
Now thats what I call a blast from the past. How the devil are you Viceroy? Its been literally years :) I'd love to listen to "ace of base" and pretend to be french together with you! Votre grenouille a mangT mon dejeuner!

So what trouble will JF stirr up now that you're back in action here? I realy missed your fights against... tyranny, not kidding at all
/raises glass to a better CAOD!
You know actually it was a M3G4 corporation pilot called NumberOne who took my podding cherry back in the opening days of the first venal civil war. Blew me to pieces in a blackbird while I was trying to jam his Megathron. I never forget that one!
As to plans now, well, today's Star Fraction is a far cry from the mostly PR and political scheming we had with Jericho back in the day. Lots of firepower and dedicated and ethusiastic revolutionaries currently doing our level best to fight the tyranny in Providence and reveal the CVA hegemony for the corrupt and venal standings enclosurist regime it actually is. Quite a big challenge though, and as some of Eve's biggest and best pvp alliances have already found out the CVA is no pushover and certainly provides big league opposition to those hoping to promote the radical freespace ethos of our founding principles.
Any which way I think CAOD will certainly benefit from the return of many veteran posters and long term players of the game and with any luck the informed and entertaining comment produced will help to liven up the environment and counterbalance some of the mindless spamming everyone has suffered for the last couple of years.

Originally by: Attak I hope that JC and JF still maintain the vision to bring something unique to this game. Back in the GNW I was a noob in a bantam patting myself on the back for finding massive scordite rocks, and I had no idea what I was missing out in 0.0. Back when small parties could make a difference, when losing ships had an impact on people's ability to wage war, and there was no set formula for success in territory holding or fleet warfare.
Welcome back, all the same.
You'd better believe it :) At the moment were fairly deep in a war against the CVA "vision" for an external Amarrian state in Providence where everyone has to adopt their standings and enemies and become protected by a warrior caste of proud CVA fighters at absolutely no cost*
One thing that has changed singed the GNW though is the degree to which roleplay causes and alliances are now pretty much indistinguishable from non-RP causes and alliances. CVA (for example) might well be roleplaying proud and dogmatic Amarrian slavers but they are also friends with the Goonswarm Coalition partners fighting the "Great War" in the south against Band of Brothers. The web of connections and interdependencies in 0.0 eve now transcend any RP/non-RP barriers and everyone has pretty much gotten their feet wet in the great game of politics and intrigue. JF formed an alliance called Star Fraction that has won its share of fame and notoriety over the years and we're still dauntless guerrilla fighters striving against crazy odds to make a difference and defend the interests of individual sovereignty and free choice in a dark galaxy of compromise and authoritarian tyranny. Look us up if you ever fancy shooting "the man" right in his face.

And on the forcing neutrals to set standings. I've been told by neutrals in Providence that is is precisely what happens. Unless you guys get the neutrals in question to come back to me with an explanation and apology for their aggression I'm going to continue on the understanding they are given CVA standings RED list on the expectation of them shooting the people on that list.

He's a brilliant roleplayer! But you'd have to be a bit dull to take anything he says as the god-given truth without checking the facts from multiple external sources first.

You're back where you should be.
You picked your time for a dramatic entrance into the thread old enemy. Lots of changes in the political scene in Eve since we last clashed our wits and ambitions on this forum I must say. Still, its good to see you are still alive, we are nothing if not judged by the wars we're fought and the foes we're contested with.
